Flat track containers are a type of shipping container that have a flat, wooden floor and steel walls. They are available in two sizes: 20 feet (ca. 6 m) and 40 feet (12.19 m). These containers are designed to transport cargo that requires lashing or securing to the container, so they are equipped with lashing rings on the side rails for this purpose. Some flat track containers also come with forklift pockets and goose neck tunnels at the ends for easier handling and transportation. In addition, some flat track containers are equipped with lashing winches and belts for securing cargo. Finally, some flat track container owners may also provide stanchions for the movement of special cargo.
What is the use of Flat Track Containers?
Flat track containers are used to transport goods that need to be loaded from the top or sides of the container. This makes them particularly useful for transporting heavy or bulky items, such as machinery, pipes, timber, and steel. Because of their flat wooden floors and sturdy steel walls, flat track containers are well-suited for handling heavy cargo and can be easily loaded and unloaded using forklifts or other equipment. Additionally, the lashing rings and other securing mechanisms on flat track containers help ensure that cargo is properly secured during transportation.
