Ventilated containers, also known as coffee containers, natural ventilated containers, and passive ventilated containers, are specialized shipping containers designed to provide ventilation for the cargo. These containers are equipped with openings in the bottom and top rails that allow for the passage of air, while protecting the cargo from rain or spray from the outside. The lashing rings on the upper and lower side rails and corner posts of the container can be used to secure the cargo and prevent it from shifting during transport. The lashing rings on a 20-foot ventilated container are capable of holding a permissible load of 1000 kg. The permissible weight limits for road and rail transport are typically marked on the container.
