Full Container Load

FCL stands for Full Container Load, and it refers to a shipping arrangement in which a single shipper books an entire container to transport their cargo. In an FCL shipment, the entire container is owned by one shipper, and the cargo it carries belongs to that shipper. The container does not need to be fully loaded with cargo in order for the shipment to be considered an FCL shipment. Even if the container is only partially filled with cargo, as long as it is booked by a single shipper under one shipment, it is considered an FCL shipment. The use of FCL shipments allows shippers to transport their cargo in a dedicated container, providing greater control over the handling and transportation of the cargo. This can be particularly useful for shippers who are transporting fragile or valuable goods, or who have specific requirements for the handling of their cargo.
