Aircraft Loading Holding

Any Deck

The deck that holds the cargo is not defined or can be held on both decks (Main Deck and Lower Deck).

Main Deck

The deck on which the major portion of payload is carried, normally known as Upper Deck of an aircraft. The full cargo freighter aircraft has it entire upper deck equipped for main deck type of containers/pallets while the Combi aircraft uses the rear part of the upper deck for cargo loading. There is no upper deck or main deck type of container/pallet in passenger aircraft.

Lower Deck

Lower Deck holds the cargo into the belly of the aircraft, in contrast with the upper deck (upper floor, one of the passengers). Lower Deck has the goods transported in the cargo hold of a passenger plane.
