On-carriage shipping phase refers to the transportation of goods from a port or airport to their final destination, after they have been offloaded from an inbound vessel or aircraft. It is the next phase of transportation after the initial shipment has been imported. This could include transport via truck, train, or even another vessel or aircraft.

A container has arrived in the Port of Durban and then moved by road or rail to Pretoria. A Fuel Surcharge must be paid On Carriage.
