Maximum Gross Weight

The maximum weight that an aircraft, ship, or vehicle can safely carry in terms of cargo, including both the weight of the cargo itself and any packaging or containers used to transport it. The maximum load-ability is determined by a number of factors, including the size and weight-bearing capacity of the vessel, the distribution of weight on board, and the weight of any additional equipment required for transport. It is an important consideration for carriers and shippers, as it helps to ensure that the vessel remains stable and that the cargo is not damaged during transit.

The Maximum Gross Weight is the total weight from Maximum Load-ability and the Equipment (tare Weight) together.
