A leg number is a segment of a flight that is identified by a unique flight number and operates between the point where passengers or cargo first board an aircraft and their final destination. A leg is a trip of an aircraft from one airport to another, and a flight with multiple legs will have multiple leg numbers. For example, a long-haul flight from New York to Tokyo may have multiple legs, such as a leg from New York to Los Angeles, and another leg from Los Angeles to Tokyo. Each leg of the flight would have its own unique leg number.
