Named Account (NAC) Rate

A named account rate is a type of transportation rate that is offered to specific customers, rather than the public. This type of rate is typically offered to a shipper who has a long-term and significant business relationship with the carrier or logistics company. Named account rates are typically lower than regular or ad-hoc rates, as the carrier or logistics company is able to plan and utilize resources more efficiently when they have a steady and predictable flow of business from a specific customer. These rates are usually negotiated between the carrier or logistics company and the customer, and are usually based on factors such as the volume of shipments, the type of cargo, and the routes that will be used. Named account rates are typically available for customers who have a regular or high volume of shipments, and this rate can be exclusive to one customer or a group of customers.
